Your 90-sec Pitch Video and Log Line will be posted to an online voting poll, where the general public can vote for their favorite entry. Each person has 10 votes.

The top-voted submissions will become Finalists* to be reviewed by Reproductions and a panel of judges!

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Each Submission should consist of:

  • A short film screenplay (15 pages or less) or 1-3 episodes of a web series (totaling 15 pages or less). Setting must be New York City or a nondescript location.
    It is highly recommended that screenplays be as practical as possible.
    (See our Rules & Terms below for more details)
  • A 1-2 sentence Log Line concisely describing your screenplay
  • A Pitch Video (90 seconds or less) – This is a quick personal video introduction to you, your project, and why audiences should vote for you to have your short film produced. This video will be public on our voting website.

The grand Prize includes

  • A fully produced cinematic short
  • IMDB Credit for all participating parties
  • 30-60 sec trailer 
  • Promotional Website Design (web design provided, hosting and the domain is at the cost of the writer/creative)

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES, TERMS & CONDITIONS

Formatting Requirements

  • Screenplay(s) should be 15 pages or less in total.
  • Scripts must be written in English, but can be in any film or television genre.
  • Script file name must contain Title only e.g. "Terminator.pdf"
  • Scripts must follow industry standard formatting and be a PDF file. Amazon Storywriter is free!
  • All scripts must include a title page that clearly states the title, author(s) name(s), email address and/or contact phone number. Title pages will not be counted towards the total page number.
  • Do not include resumes, casting suggestions, letters, or other supporting documentation with your submission.

Description of Prizes

The Winning Submission will be granted the Grand Prize(the “Prize”) which sole intent is to produce and film the winning Script. The Prize is comprised of a combination of day-rates of key personnel, equipment rentals, and other services involved throughout pre- & post-production. The exact nature of how/when the Prize will be utilized will be on a case-by-case basis, depending the requirements of the Script and Reproductions’ available resources, and will be at the sole discretion of Reproductions. If necessary, prize substitution of equal or greater value may occur and is at the sole discretion of Reproductions.

The Prize includes:

  • A fully produced cinematic short
  • IMDB Credit for all participating parties
  • 30-60 sec trailer
  • Promotional Website Design (web design provided, hosting and the domain is at the cost of the writer/creative)
  • Reproductions will also include a small discretionary cash budget. Use of this budget will be at the sole discretion of Reproductions, based on production needs.

Prize is non-transferable and no substitution will be made except as provided herein at Reproductions sole discretion.

The prize does not include payment for actors or rental locations. Reproductions will collaborate on location scouting and casting, but is not responsible for payment. More details in Rules below.

Winner's Selection

  • The Pitch Video and Log Line of each Submission will be posted to an online voting poll, where the general public will vote for their favorite Entry. Based on online voting results, the top-voted submissions will become Finalists.*
  • The Winner will be selected from the Finalists based upon the level of creativity, practicality, originality, and writing ability of the associated Script, as determined in the sole discretion of Reproductions and a panel of judges.
  • Finalists may be contacted for an interview as part of the final selection of the winner.
  • All decisions by Reproductions and the judges are final. We do not provide feedback, notes, votes, or rankings of any kind.

Number of finalists will be determined, proportionally, to the number of overall submissions.

RULES

  • Screenplays MUST be set in NYC, it’s surrounding boroughs, or a non-descript geographical setting, and should only require 3 locations or less. Any script not following this condition may be disqualified.
  • Once a script has been submitted, no revised or future drafts will be accepted, unless changes are agreed upon in initial pre-production meetings.
  • All writers/participants retain the rights to their screenplays.
  • Scripts do not need to be registered WGA, but we recommend it.
  • Reproductions only accepts online fees and entries. Entries must be received on or before the deadlines and submission fee payment must be made in full at time of the submission. All entry fees are non-refundable.
  • Entrants are prohibited from contacting the judges during the competition. Any entrant who attempts to contact a judge will be disqualified and their entry fee forfeited.
  • All decisions by Reproductions and the judges are final. We do not provide feedback, notes, grades, or rankings of any kind.
  • Except where prohibited by law, participation in the Competition constitutes each Winner’s consent to Reproductions, organizers and its agents’ use of Winners’ names, likenesses, photographs, interviews, behind the scenes footage, and/or personal information for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration.
  • By submitting your material, you agree to be added to our email list, but can remove yourself by unsubscribing at any time.
  • The Writer/Creative is responsible securing each location for principal photography. Reproductions will collaborate as well with our partner locations, but is not responsible for any rental payments for locations selected by the Creatives.
  • Casting will be a collaborative effort between the Creative and Reproductions. Reproductions will have the final say on casting. Reproductions is not responsible for any actor payments, upon production or deferred.
  • Reproductions will be named the Executive Producers of this film under a SAG New Media Agreement with deferred actor pay. Reproductions is not responsible for any actor payments, upon production or deferred, including Pension & Benefits.
  • Reproductions will provided full production insurance and short-term film insurance for the project.

Eligibility

  • Must be 18 years or older to submit. Writers under the age of 18 years old must provide written permission from a parent or guardian in order to submit their work.
  • Scripts will not be eligible if they have been sold, produced, or optioned.
  • Only original scripts will be accepted. The following do not qualify for our competition: novels, short stories, stage plays, musicals, treatments, synopses, reality show concepts and spec scripts for existing TV shows.
  • Scripts adapted from your own work, including books, plays and other source materials are all eligible, but only if you retain all rights to your work.
  • Adaptations from other works will be accepted, under the condition that the writer of the original work has granted you written permission to use his/her material. Adaptations of works in the public domain are also permitted.
  • Entrant must not be an immediate family member or friend of any of the judges or their respective companies.
  • Writers may submit up to two (2) Submissions. Each Submission is its own entry and must include a separate file and separate entry fee.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Reproductions reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Competition, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Reproductions’ reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Competition, as determined by Reproductions in its sole discretion. Reproductions reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the Entry process or the operation of the Competition or to be acting in violation of these Rules or any other promotion or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Competition may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Reproductions reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Reproductions’ failure to enforce any term of these Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
  • Reproductions reserves the right to refuse to consider any submission at our discretion. We also reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Competition (and any of its terms) with or without prior notice for any reason.
  • Except where prohibited by law, participation in the Competition constitutes each Winner’s consent to Reproductions, organizers and its agents’ use of Winners’ names, likenesses, photographs, interviews, behind the scenes footage, and/or personal information for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration.
  • The entrant shall indemnify and hold harmless Reproductions its employees, contractors, organizers, affiliates, agents and Judges from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim including but not limited to those involving copyright, trademark, credits, and/or publicity of the writing material entered.
